Sruthi Subbanna is Senior Program Research Associate, Urban Climate Resilience with the Sustainable Cities and Transport program at WRI India. Based out of Bengaluru she is involved in the drafting of Climate Action Plan for Bengaluru city.

Sruthi has been a researcher in the sphere of environmental sciences and climate change for close to a decade and has worked with various organisations in Bengaluru, like the Centre for Sustainable Development, Institute for Social and Economic Change and Environment Support Group. She is also a National Governing Council Member of the Bamboo Society of India for the period of 2021-2023. Sruthi has authored and co-authored several peer reviewed journal papers and popular articles and has attended many national and international conferences.

Sruthi holds a doctorate in Forestry (Forest Ecology and Environment) from Forest Research Institute Deemed University, Dehradun, India. Her doctoral work focused on the socio-economic and ecological significance of bamboo-based farm forestry across different agroclimatic zones. She holds a Master of Science from Oklahoma State University, Stillwater, USA and a Bachelor of Science from Mumbai University, India.

In her idle time Sruthi loves to read books, especially fiction novels, and is also an ardent terrace gardener.
