Siddharth Thyagarajan is a Senior Project Associate at World Resources Institute India, within the Urban Development Team at the Sustainable Cities and Transport program. His work focuses on urban placemaking, street safety and design, nature-based solutions and transit-oriented development.

Prior to this, Siddharth has worked on projects within varying scales and typologies such as master planning, urban design, climate responsive architecture and community engagement across diverse global contexts such as India, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Belgium and Portugal.

He holds a master’s in architecture and urbanism degree from KU Leuven, Belgium where he focused on studying resilient and sustainable strategies in the urban environment, and a bachelor’s degree from Aayojan School of Architecture, Jaipur. His Master’s Thesis, under the Streetscape Territories program was based on formulating development strategies for the largest market recycling market in Merkato district, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

Siddharth’s piquing curiosity takes him to discovering new places, cuisines, and conversations. When not at work, he likes to unwind by sketching, poring through books and podcasts and taking long rides on his cycle or motorcycle.
