Shrimoyee is Program Head-Urban Development, in the Sustainable Cities and Transport program at WRI India. Based in Bangalore, she supports WRI India’s work on developing and supporting policies, strategies, plans and projects for livable, resilient and inclusive cities and urban regions.

Shrimoyee comes with about 17 years of experience in diverse aspects of urban and regional planning and local governance. She has led, managed and nurtured projects and ideas pertaining to spatial and strategic urban development plans at different scales such as master plans, regional plans, city development plans, evidence-based urban planning and decision-making, climate progressive cities roadmap, community-centric and inclusive service delivery, institutional mechanisms for plan implementation etc. She has been working closely with governments, private sector, and not-for-profit organizations. Shrimoyee has been associated with flagship urban sector programmes in India at both national and state levels, and has designed and conducted training and capacity building sessions for different stakeholders. Most recently, she led the preparation of the Climate Action Plan for Bangalore and is associated with implementation of inclusive climate action projects.

Shrimoyee holds a master’s degree in Urban and Rural Planning from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Roorkee. She has authored a book chapter and published several articles in journals, news-media and blogs.
