Shashidhar is working as a Manager with the Climate Program at WRI India. His work focuses on sub-national climate action, with emphasis on vulnerability assessment & adaptation planning. He is, currently, working on supporting the Bihar government in developing climate-resilient and low-carbon development pathways for the state.

Before joining WRI India, he worked at Deloitte (DTTILLP) as an environmental safeguard specialist. He then worked at Himalayan Action Research Center-India, where he led a team in creating a conservation-focused livelihood development plan for Darma, Gangotri, and Govind Valley. This plan was part of the Secure Himalaya initiative (GEF-MoEFCC). Additionally, he led the biomass monitoring and evaluation team for the Uttarakhand Decentralized Watershed Development Project, Gramya II, in collaboration with WMD, Dehradun, and the World Bank. He also engaged in various research projects during his time at IIFM-Bhopal.

Shashidhar holds a Ph.D. in Forestry and Climate Change from HNB-Garhwal University, Uttarakhand. He also has a master’s degree in Environment Management from the Forest Research Institute, Dehradun, Uttarakhand, and a bachelor’s degree in forestry from SHUATS, Prayag Raj.

In his spare time, he enjoys reading research papers and trekking.
