Shalini Singh is the Executive Editor in the Core Communications team at WRI India. In this role, she oversees the editing and development of communication products, including blogs and Op-Eds, while also contributing to high-level media strategy and conducting storytelling workshops.

With a career in print journalism from 2006 to 2017, Shalini's reporting on environmental issues has been recognized with several prestigious awards in Indian journalism. She is also a co-founder of the People's Archive of Rural India (PARI), a multimedia repository launched in 2014. From 2018 to 2023, she worked as a freelancer, with her climate change reporting winning the 2023 Ricardo Ortega Memorial Prize (silver) from the United Nations Correspondents Association.

In 2017, Shalini was selected as a Nieman Fellow for journalism at Harvard University, spending a year in residence with 23 global counterparts. She holds a postgraduate degree in Social Communications Media from Sophia Polytechnic, Mumbai, and a BA (Hons) in Economics from Sri Venkateswara College, Delhi University.

When not engaging in her professional work, Shalini enjoys practicing parenting skills on her Dachshund daughter, Sheeba, and dreams of a future where cities are bicycle-friendly for all genders.
