Pranusha Kulkarni
Senior Program Associate, Electric Mobility

Pranusha Kulkarni is a Senior Program Associate – Electric Mobility, at WRI India, where she is working closely with government and industry stakeholders in Maharashtra on enabling a just EV transition in auto manufacturing clusters. Her work includes stakeholder engagement, design and implementation of the just EV transition research that includes conducting the primary & secondary data collection, qualitative & quantitative data analysis, developing research publications, and facilitating solution design and execution.
Pranusha has over 7 years of research and academic experience in the fields of law and public policy. Before joining WRI India, she was a doctoral researcher at IIM Ahmedabad, specializing in Public Policy & Management. In her doctoral thesis, she has evaluated the justice-awareness of renewable energy transition policies in India across governance scales, using just transition as a normative analytical tool. She has previously taught a course on Just sustainability transitions at NLSIU, Bengaluru and undergraduate law courses at TNNLU, Trichy.
Pranusha earned an LL.M. in Access to Justice from TISS Mumbai, receiving the Institute Gold Medal, and a B.B.A., LL.B. from Karnataka State Law University. She has been awarded the India Tech Policy Fellowship, IIT Kanpur’s Research and Writing Fellowship, and UGC’s Junior Research Fellowship.
A trained Hindustani classical vocalist, Pranusha enjoys reading non-fiction, writing op-eds, and staying active through fitness boxing, weightlifting, dance workouts, and trekking.
