Program Manager - Food, Land and Water

Nupur is a Program Manager, Sustainable Agriculture with the Food, land and Water program at WRI India. In this role, she is essentially focused on public policy research and project management for produce pillar.
Nupur has over a decade-long experience of working on the nexus of natural resource management, and sustainable development. Her professional experience includes working with Population Council of India, Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Maharashtra Government, United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Wildlife Conservation Society and Institute of Development Studies (IDS), UK. Through her various roles she has contributed to implementation of Scheduled Tribes and Other Traditional Forest Dwellers (Recognition of Rights) Act (FRA) and Panchayats Extension to Scheduled Areas (PESA), monitoring of Tribal Sub-plans, designing livelihood development projects, community-led conservation projects, partnership buildings, and policy research.
She holds MA in Development Studies from Institute of Development Studies (IDS, Sussex), United Kingdom and MA in Anthropology from Pune University, India. Beyond her professional pursuits, Nupur enjoys hiking, practicing yoga and exploring heritage.
