Niyati Gupta is a senior program associate in with the Climate program at WRI India. Here she works towards the decarbonization of the building and construction industries across various sectors. She also works with a focus to advance sub-national climate action work in India.

Prior to joining WRI, Niyati was an integral member of academic consultancy projects on Urban Infrastructure Resilience, Disaster Risk Management and Healthcare Architecture. Additionally, she has worked on developing training and academic modules for short-term training programs and MOOC courses on healthcare architecture, disaster resilience and sustainable material utilization in the construction industry.

Niyati holds a Ph.D. in Disaster Resilient Healthcare Infrastructure from the Department of Architecture, School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi. She is an architect with a master’s in urban development and management from TERI SAS, New Delhi.

Originally from Jaipur, Rajasthan, Niyati is also an art enthusiast. She combines her interests in travel and sketching as she maps out landscapes, city, and streetscapes during visits. Presently, she is learning calligraphy and impressionistic art using acrylics.
