Kishore Wankhade is a Program Manager - Air Quality at WRI India. Based out of Surat, he oversees completion of activities leading to the preparation of Surat Clean Air Action plan.

Kishore has completed his master’s in Geography and holds a PhD in Water Resource Management from Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi and has been working in the field of Sustainable Development for close to two decades. He has experience of working on issues related to Waste Management, Chemicals and Health, Environment Impact Assessment, etc., and is skilled in research and advocacy, project management, documentation and training, networking.

He has worked in the development sector with organizations Toxics Link, YUVA, VANI, UNDP, MoEFCC, and consultancies such as Ultra-tech environmental consultancy, Sofies Sustainability Leaders Pvt Ltd. He was the Lead Researcher with Toxics Link to prepare the first assessment report for mercury in India. Later, he was engaged on issues related to food safety, heavy metals, e-waste.

Kishore lives in Panvel, a small town near Mumbai.
