Jubin Jacob Mathew

Jubin Jacob Mathew is the Senior Strategy Manager in the Executive Office at WRI India. He supports the development and alignment of institutional strategy, leads strategy narratives for key state-level initiatives, and manages public policy engagements and partnerships. Jubin is passionate about creating impactful solutions that balance environmental sustainability, economic growth, and human well-being.
He brings over a decade of experience across sustainability, innovation, and social impact. He began his career at the Development Alternatives Group, where he led grassroots initiatives for corporates like Hindustan Unilever and Godrej, and helped establish the group’s consulting services. He later led a global social impact start-up accelerator, launching over 10 ventures in India’s ecosystem, and was named one of IAPB’s Top 10 Global Innovators for pioneering last-mile rural healthcare delivery. Most recently, he served as Director – Strategic Growth & Partnerships at STS Global, where he helped scale disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation operations and build an AI-based, hyper-local hazard risk assessment platform.
Jubin holds a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from the School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi, and an MBA in Sustainability Management from the TERI School of Advanced Studies. He gained a deep understanding of sustainability and environmental outcomes at scale, along with a solid foundation in management.
Outside of work, Jubin enjoys the outdoors, performing arts, music, and travel. He spends his free time playing and teaching music, exploring new eateries, attending concerts, learning new board games, and playing sports such as football, squash, padel and badminton.
