Devadathan Biju is a Junior Program Associate in the Climate Program at WRI India where he supports the climate team in their energy-economy modelling work using the India Energy Policy Simulator.

Prior to joining WRI India, Dev began his career as a Research Assistant in the MATRIX lab at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru. In this role, he engaged in modeling materials at the nanoscale to enhance his understanding of some of their macroscopic properties. However, driven by a growing desire to explore the interlinkages between science, technology, and policy, Dev later interned with Modern Architects for Rural India (MARI), an NGO based in Hyderabad. During his time there, he contributed to their city-level vaccination drive and volunteered for field visits related to their agro-forestry initiatives.

Dev holds an Integrated Master’s in Physics from IISc and currently resides in Bengaluru with his younger brother. On weekends, you can find him at the nearest badminton court, swimming pool or running an in-house, unofficial day-care for travelling pet owners whom he knows personally.
