Avirat Inamdar is a Senior Program Manager with the Sustainable Cities and Transport program at WRI India. He currently focuses on developing regional spatial strategies for eco-city region planning across the country.

Avirat brings strong experience in urban and regional planning. Prior to joining WRI India, he worked with the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) on metropolitan planning and infrastructure development. He also worked with the Centre of Science and Technology for Rural Development (COSTFORD), Kerala—an organization co-founded by Dr. Laurie Baker—on affordable housing and sustainable development.

He holds an M.Tech. in Town and Country Planning from the College of Engineering, Pune, and a B.Arch. from Sir J.J. College of Architecture, Mumbai.

Outside of work, Avirat enjoys reading non-fiction on history, philosophy, and economics. He also enjoys traveling and playing cricket, table tennis, and lawn tennis.
