Program Lead - Energy Finance
Ashim is the Program Lead - Energy Finance with the Energy program of WRI India, where he is responsible for developing the program's strategy for energy finance and creating innovative financing mechanisms for access to clean energy solutions across different consumer categories for energy transitions.
Ashim comes to WRI India with an extensive experience in banking and finance, working with leading commercial banks in India across multiple departments and business verticals. He has worked as a technical consultant advising microfinance institutions, farmer producer organizations, cooperatives, community institutions, small businesses and SMEs on institution building, capital advisory, fund management, market linkage, business development and scaling up. Some of Ashim’s past projects have been with DFIs on agri-value chain financing, financial literacy, and inclusive finance.
Ashim is a management graduate from the Institute of Rural Management, Anand (IRMA), and a Chartered Financial Analyst from ICFAI.
He reads books on theosophy, history, and art in his spare time and loves to travel and paint.
