Archiman Biswas is a Program Associate with the Sustainable Cities and Transport team at WRI India, where he supports research publications and knowledge initiatives.

Before joining WRI India, Archiman was a doctoral candidate at IIT Kharagpur, where his PhD research focused on consumer behavior in online and in-store retail across Tier-II Indian cities. He has published widely in international journals, contributed to several book chapters, and presented at numerous conferences.

During his PhD, he worked on key government projects under the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, including SAAR-SAMEEKSHA, SAAR-2, BASIIC, and the Global Housing Technology Challenge. His work involved economic assessments, impact documentation, and developing online educational content on inclusive cities and sustainable housing. He also served as a Teaching Assistant at IIT Kharagpur and is a reviewer for several reputed international journals.

Archiman holds a Bachelor’s in Architecture from Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology, where he was a Silver Medalist, and a Master’s in City Planning from IIT Kharagpur.

Outside work, he enjoys travelling, fitness, and the arts. He is a trained painter and Rabindra Sangeet singer, and a medalist in yoga.
