Akansha Saklani
Consultant - Data and Digital Products
Akansha is a Consultant - Data and Digital Products with the Energy program at WRI India. With more than eight years of experience in data analysis and geo-visualization, she holds geospatial expertise to improve decisions on energy access and energy transitions. At WRI India Akansha leads the development of Energy Access Explorer, an online interactive geospatial platform for inclusive and integrated energy planning in Indian geographies. She also leads the development of an online tool to access the impact of Electric Vehicles on the grid for a fossil free e-mobility.
Previously, Akansha has worked extensively in Health Finance and Governance where she used geographical mapping and analysis to help and improve public delivery in health sector. Prior to joining WRI, she worked on the 3D-mapping of slums that involved rebuilding of slum areas in smart cities with sustainable energy systems which allowed for maximum use of renewable energy.
Akansha holds a master’s in Geoinformatics from Indian Institute of Remote Sensing, Indian Space Research Organization.
She enjoys reading, traveling and exploring new places.
