Ahona is a Communications Manager for World Resources Institute India’s Energy program. She plans, manages, and implements communications activities to further the objectives of the Energy Program’s work in India and globally.

Ahona is a filmmaker and communications professional with a vast experience in the Development Sector. She has been engaged in developing creative outreach strategies and communications plans for various programs and organizations. Her expertise lies in developing communications strategy, film direction, scripting, photography, content writing, branding, partnerships, digital media, website development, planning creative IEC materials, behavior change campaigns, knowledge products, and its dissemination through various internal and external platforms. She takes keen interest in using Development Communications as a tool to enhance policies related to sustainability, climate change, urban development, inclusive development and education.

Previously, Ahona worked with NDTV and The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) where she produced award-winning documentaries. She has been the Communications Lead for the National Institute of Urban Affairs (NIUA) where she established and executed the communications strategy for the institute and its various centers, most notably the Climate Centre for Cities (C-Cube). She also holds the experience of working with various multi-lateral and bi-lateral organizations and ministries such as USAID, DfID, SDC, GIZ, MoHUA, MOEF, etc.

Ahona holds a Master’s in Film and Video Communications Design from the National Institute of Design (NID), Ahmedabad and a bachelor’s in Journalism from the Delhi University.

She loves travelling, cooking and writing poems. In her free time Ahona also enjoys exploring creative learning activities with her kids.
