Abhijit is a Program Associate in the Climate, Economics and Finance Program at WRI India, where he works on enhancing the resilience of textile MSMEs to climate change, building their capacity for decarbonization, and supporting a just transition through skilling and access to social protection schemes.

Before joining WRI India, Abhijit worked as a Project Coordinator with the Urban Management Center (UMC) in Ahmedabad. There, he collaborated with MSMEs and migrant laborers in Surat to ensure comprehensive entitlements. He has also worked with the Governments of Odisha and Government of Tamil Nadu, as well as the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment (MoSJE), on occupational and social safety schemes for sanitation workers in India.

Abhijit holds a Master's degree in Labour Studies and Social Protection from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS).
